Omni Amelia Island
With not one but two championship courses and a stunning location alongside the Atlantic Ocean near Jacksonville, Florida, Omni Amelia Island is an absolute dream of a destination for golfers. This fantastic resort offers luxury accommodation, 3.5 miles of beach on the doorstep and is surrounded by the natural marshland beauty that defines this part of the country. Did we mention the golf? We’re about to…
American golf courses don’t come much better than the two at your disposal here.
Oak Marsh: It doesn’t matter your skill level, this one will provide a magic day of play. Designed by the legendary Pete Dye, Oak Marsh takes in a gorgeous setting as it winds its way around salt marsh creeks against a backdrop of heritage oak trees. It’s played host to numerous prestigious competitions and is renowned as one of Dye’s very best American golf courses. The par-72 course has plenty of surprises, with narrow fairways and lots of water and bunkers along its 6,500-yard length.
Long Point: The 18-hole, par-72 Long Point was designed by Tom Fazio and is a well-deserving award-winner and is named as one of Florida’s Top 50 courses. The beauty of this one lies in its natural hazards, and it takes you through marshes, lush forests and sand dunes in one glorious day of play. It has also hosted numerous championships and qualifiers and is a real favorite among those looking to take on a challenge and improve their game.
